This week the Montgomery County Sherriff's office along with Montgomery County 9-1-1 and several other agencies proudly hosted the 9-1-1 Junior First Responder Camp, which was originally started in 2015 as a way to help young adults in the 8th & 9th grade who are interested in exploring rewarding careers in public safety and also learning life saving techniques in order to help in real life scenarios! The Class is free!

Throughout the week, Students learned and participated in interactive sessions and received hands-on experiences in law enforcement, 9-1-1 telecommunications, fire safety, CPR and first aid. As they wrap up the amazing and incredible week, on day 5 the students put their new skills to the test with realistic, simulated emergency situations. Each student graduated with exceptional emergency skills and knowledge of how everyday our 1st responders are on the front line in some of the most courageous situations.

The MCSCAAA Alumni Members were able to participate for 5 days by assisting the agencies while student learned valuable skills. Alumni members were allowed to "role play" on Day 5, which was exciting and rewarding watching and interacting with the students while they put their skills they learned to use on the MCSCAAA members with realistic simulated emergency scenarios.

The make up artist in these camps are amazing as well!
