On July 20, 2026, MCSCAAA held its General Meeting along with the Annual Meeting and Elections. Was a large turn out as over 50 Alumni Members were in attendance. MCSCAAA President, Pat Shannon recapped all the achievements and opportunities our association and several members received throughout the year. MCSCAAA current membership is 118 strong! Members volunteered over 4000 hours supporting MCSO and other volunteers opportunities supporting First Responders. Elections-

Dante Perez-Marquez was well deserving of the 2025 MCSO Volunteer of the Year Award. Dante led MCSCAAA Members in total accumulated volunteer hours last year with 457, having contributed much of the time in support of the MCSO jail chaplain's 15-week class sessions, and another dozen volunteer activities throughout the year. Also, Dante is just as busy with volunteering at MCSO this year!

This week the Montgomery County Sherriff's office along with Montgomery County 9-1-1 and several other agencies proudly hosted the 9-1-1 Junior First Responder Camp, which was originally started in 2015 as a way to help young adults in the 8th & 9th grade who are interested in exploring rewarding careers in public safety and also learning life saving techniques in order to help in real life scenarios!
