2021 Lighting Of The Doves

November 20, 2021 a.m. - Lighting Of The Doves - for some volunteers the day began at 7:30 a.m. and ended at 9:30 p.m. There were 2 lots with 2 shifts each lot, in 4-hr. increments. Some volunteers stayed to help with the second shifts because they were short-handed, and some stayed to enjoy the atmosphere and watch the fireworks display.

The Green Lot volunteers were responsible for greeting sponsors and vendors and encouraging them to unload their goods quickly and move on for the next vendor. The event coordinators for the Green Lot were Gary Jones and Kimberly Shouse. They reported seeing many of the event performers such as cheerleaders, twirlers, dancers, choir members, and many other visitors, some with humorous stories.

The Gold Lot volunteers were responsible for handing out brochures and keeping the traffic flowing in and out of the garage. The event coordinators for the Gold Lot were Chief Foy Day and Cheryl Schubert. The volunteers reported having numerous visitors asking them for directions to the event, the Nut Cracker Market and to stores in the surrounding the area.

Overall, it was a very good day. There was positive feedback and suggestions that will be incorporated into the planning of next year's event. The fireworks display was

amazing and Kimberly Shouse said it best when she said "It's a great way to start off the holiday season."
